Known as a Pesach Dahir, this manuscript is a Moroccan Passover liturgical book comprising two elements: a Haggadah and a collection of liturgical poems, mostly in Aramaic, as seen in the page on display. The style of the decoration, along with other elements of the manuscript, has led some scholars to conclude that it originates in the Berber region of Morocco. The Haggadah follows the familiar text of the Passover evening service. The decorations are generally geometric, with no human figures, in keeping with the surrounding Muslim cultural context.
